Not fast, just fun.

And super reliable. The little thing did its job well, great fun to ride, and never gave me any trouble. It’s still in the shed and gets taken for laps around the yard regularly by my daughter. The bike has since been returned to factory settings, other than the change to the fuel tank and colour.

The bike was the test bed for more than a few crazy/unsuccessful modifications to make it rideable one-handed. The electrical system was robust and straightforward, cramped but easy to work with. Some electrical parts failed, though - the oxygen sensor and the neutral light switch, not cheap parts as it turned out. Clutch mod was easy, I did experiment with wider bars, but went back to factory parts. The factory gear was replaced with the tallest available ratio, as the poor thing was singing at 100 km/h.

I was chasing a larger capacity bike when I started this project, but I'm happy this was my starter bike. Many, many hours of slow riding practice on this bike.
